    Cesarean Section (C-section)

A Cesarean Section (C-section) is surgery to deliver a baby. The baby is taken out through the mother’s abdomen. Some C-sections are planned, but many are done when unexpected problems happen during delivery. Reasons for a C-section may include

    • Health problems in the mother
    • The mother carrying more than one baby
    • The size or position of the baby
    • The baby’s health is in danger
    • Labor is not moving along as it should

The surgery is relatively safe for mother and baby. Still, it is major surgery. It also takes longer to recover from a C-section than from vaginal birth.

    Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure whereby the uterus (womb) is removed. This surgery for women is the most common non-obstetric surgical procedure. The most common reason hysterectomy is performed is for uterine fibroids. Other common reasons are:

    • abnormal uterine bleeding (vaginal bleeding)
    • cervical dysplasia (precancerous conditions of the cervix)
    • endometriosis, and uterine prolapse (including pelvic relaxation).

Only 10% of hysterectomies are performed for cancer. In Janam thorough investigations are done before performing a Hysterectomy to assess the actual reasons and special care plan is adopted after the surgery.

    Vaginal tightening (Vaginoplasty)

Vaginal tightening (Vaginoplasty)  is the tightening of the pelvic muscles  to achieve or
maintain the right degree of elasticity of the pelvic floor muscles. [2] These muscles must be able to contract to maintain continence, and to relax allowing for urination and bowel movements, and for pleasurable sexual intercourse as well as for giving birth. The pelvic muscles can become stretched or weakened due to aging and more specifically due to pregnancy. This often happens after a difficult childbirth which over stretches or tears the pelvic muscles. Their under use can also cause pelvic floor weakness. In the same vein, the change in hormones related to menopause could weaken these muscles, as well as damage caused through long term straining, chronic constipation or cough or overweight. The surgery for Vaginal tightening  involves removal of excess mucosa with tightening of the
underlying muscle and reduction in the diameter of the vaginal introitus (external opening of the vagina). The team of professional surgeons available at Janam will be providing you the best of treatments in Vaginoplasty.

When is it advisable to consult a specialized women's health professional?

Regardless of one’s sexual activity status, any woman, regardless of age, should consider seeking advice from a specialized women’s health professional if she or her caregiver notices any potential health concerns. Such concerns may include abnormal vaginal discharge, irregular menstrual cycles, and others. Young women who are not sexually active but use tampons can also benefit from consulting a women’s health professional around the age of 21.

How often should I schedule a gynecological check-up?

For most women, an annual well-woman examination is recommended. However, the frequency may vary depending on individual health factors and age. Your gynecologist will advise you on the appropriate schedule.

What can I expect during my first gynecological visit?

During your first visit, your gynecologist will review your medical history, perform a physical examination, and may discuss topics like menstruation, sexual health, and contraception. This is an opportunity to establish a comfortable patient-doctor relationship and address any concerns you may have.

What birth control options are available?

here are several birth control options, including birth control pills, patches, injections, intrauterine devices (IUDs), implants, and barrier methods. Your gynecologist will help you choose the most suitable method based on your lifestyle and health needs.
